Some people are very wary of wearing wool, as they think it may upset their skin balance.

I have put together a list of positives for wearing wool, to show off its natural benefits and properties.

Wool is breathable

What I mean by this is that any sweat is wicked away from your skin to evaporate into the air.

Wool reacts to changes in body temperature

It has the amazing ability to react to body temperature, so it keeps you warm in Winter and cool in Summer.

Wool is naturally flame resistant

This basically means that it doesn't burn very easily if it is set alight.

Wool is eco-friendly

It is natural, renewable, and biodegradable. When it decomposes in soil, it releases nutrients into the earth. It biodegrades very quickly, unlike synthetic yarns, which take many years to decompose.

Wool is 100% natural

It is grown all year round on sheep who are kept in natural conditions with access to grass, water, sunshine and fresh air.

Wool is mostly hypoallergenic

If treated with love, wool has excellent hypoallergenic properties. Most wool allergies stem from the chemical treatments some wools are processed with.

Wool is static resistant

As wool naturally absorbs moisture, it rarely generates static electricity.

Wool is resistant to mold and mildew

As we know, mold and mildew need a damp atmosphere to thrive on. Wool does not provide this as it naturally wicks away any moisture.

Wool has been used for thousands of years. I do hope you will join my journey of discovering just how wonderful wool is!
